The DeWitt Volunteer fire department is having a euchre tournament alongside dueling pianos later in February.
We had Firefighter Derek Fox on our Just Talk program this morning to discuss the event in depth. This event started as a Euchre tournament only, and has evolved to include live music and performances. Derek Fox then provided more information on the event itself.
This event had been going on for over ten years, and grown dramatically since the first year. As the DeWitt Fire Department are all volunteers, they are not paid and must fundraise to buy equipment and materials. They want to serve and protect their community, and always ask what can best serve that end goal.
So mark your calendars for Saturday Feb. 28th down in DeWitt for their Euchre Tournament and live music dueling pianos. The cost is 35 or 25 dollars depending on which event you purchase, and drinks will also be able to be purchased at the event.
