Ted Strait wins Volunteer of the Year award

The Maquoketa Area Chamber of Commerce held a public polling for their awards for local businesses, non-profits, as well as nominees for another category.

While some categories have yet to have their winners announced, Ted Strait was voted and won the community leader and volunteer of the year award. The chamber congratulated Ted and presented him with his award yesterday at their office.

Afterwards, I was able to ask Ted about how he felt and what he thinks he did to deserve it.

According to Ted, if you see something that needs to be done, you should just do it. That kind of mentality has not gone unnoticed nor unappreciated, and has now been officially recognized.
