Maquoketa Athletic Booster Club reports great fundraising from annual cake auction

Yesterday was the Maquoketa Athletic Booster Club’s annual cake auction, and they had a fantastic turnout.
Members of the booster club were on our Just Talk segment yesterday to talk about the cake auction, and I followed up with them today to see how it went. Booster Club Vice President Chad Coakley responded and filled us in on all the details.
The highest bid for a cake was $2,000 dollars and was the girls soccer team cake.
The quilt that was donated by Barb Burmeister for auction also sold for $1,800.
Their smaller events like the chuck a duck also sold all their ducks and had several winners, and they handed out almost all the cake they had for eating.
While the booster club doesn’t have the final numbers, they are estimating that they achieved their Stretch Goal of $20,000
VP Coakley said that they “Can’t thank the community enough for their generous support last night.”
