Car chase in Clinton County over the weekend

On Sunday Clinton County officers were involved in a pursuit according to their press release.
At around 4:35pm, Clinton County Deputies were notified of a vehicle in the area registered to Waylon J. Koehler, who had an active warrant for Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
When police tried to perform a traffic stop, Koehler did not stop or slow down, which started the pursuit. It continued on into Scott County before Koehler lost control of his car.
Afterwards, Koehler is said to have remained in the vehicle and began harming himself with a knife. Bettendorf Police then arrived on scene and a short standoff and negotiation ensued, with Koehler eventually surrendering peacefully.
He was treated on scene for minor injuries and then arrested on his active warrant, and was also charged with eluding.
Information collected from the press release made by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.
