Rep. Norlin Mommsen discusses his vote on eminent domain

After the legislative coffee in DeWitt, I had the opportunity to talk with Rep. Norlin Mommsen about why he voted the way he did on eminent domain, and what could change his vote. During the Q&A he mentioned that he didn’t see any positives for Clinton County, and didn’t want other counties to be in the same position.
While he would like to see a change in the bill and language, he said at the very minimum he would need a commitment to address any problems that resulted in this issue.
Norlin is not against the pipeline or the potential benefits it could bring to both Iowa at large and Clinton County, but needs to see more actions taken to address the problems that have, can, and will come up around this topic.
