Senator Grassley speaks on tariffs still affecting farmers

Earlier this morning, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley answered some questions during a phone interview with KMAQ.

One of the topics discussed was about farmers, the cost of production and equipment, and how tariffs affect all of it. Senator Grassley mentioned that while the threat of tariffs on European countries has been dropped, tariffs on fertilizer are still present and an issue.

Senator Grassley has remained steadfast in his stance against tariffs that affect farmers and their profits. While fertilizer is one product that is driving up costs due to trade, machine parts themselves are also contributing. Senator Grassley provided an example of how that looks.

Senator Grassley says tensions around tariffs against Europe have calmed down, but that more work needs to be done to relieve pressure off of American farmers.
