Clinton County boaters rescued after engine failure

Three boaters were rescued by Clinton officials after their engine was disabled.
On Monday around 3:50pm, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a boat in distress. Officers and fire personnel deployed a shallow rescue boat and drone to help locate and retrieve them. The boat was found to be surrounded by ice which complicated the rescue efforts. Despite the challenges, the boat was towed back to shore and all occupants were uninjured.
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Andover Fire Department, Camanche Fire Department, Clinton County Conservation and Thomson (IL.) Fire Department.
Information collected from the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office press release.
