Mapping for Maquoketa Splash Pad this Friday

Today on Just Talk I spoke with YMCA executive director Scott Warren.

We discussed the Splash Pad development in depth, and the developments happening with it. While they have just a bit more to raise before meeting their goal, they are continuing forward with gathering more information for the splash pad. This week will see further development on that front, with on-the-ground mapping.

With the funding goal in sight and plans made to map out the location, I asked Scott for some more information. With construction planned on starting in the Spring, could it potentially be finished before the end of the year?

While it may not be finished in time for use this year, if construction progresses well and the final details are ironed out, the splash pad should be able to be enjoyed in 2027. Scott remains steadfast in his belief of the splash pad and the good it will bring to the community.
