Fireworks allowed for New Year celebrations in Maquoketa

If you’re in Maquoketa and want to ring in the New Year with a bang, you can do so for today.

The City Code follows State law which allows for fireworks to be used on New Year’s Eve. There is a time frame however, with it opening up starting at 9am today and lasting until 12:30am tomorrow.

During that time, fireworks can be used and enjoyed.

Information comes from the City of Maquoketa’s Facebook post.
