In the month of December there were at least a dozen accidents that were reported, with the majority of them involving deer.
The most recent accident was on Saturday the 27th, when a Preston resident struck a deer with her vehicle on Highway 64. The damage from the collision resulted in around $15,000 dollars in damages and totaled the vehicle, which was later towed.
Most of these accidents also occurred during the night when deer are more active. Make sure to take extra care when driving during that time.
Information collected from the official accident reports from the JCSO.
