Matteson St. will be updated for Splash Pad development

Yesterday on Just Talk I spoke with City Manager Josh Bolt about the development for the aquatic center to be built by the YMCA. The city recently received a CAT grant from the state for development of the center. The purpose is for both visitors to the city but also for the residents and the families who live here.
While the aquatic center will be a huge addition to the town, improvements will also be made to Matteson Street. Josh talked more about how the road is in need of updates and improvements for the already existing demand.
With the grant funding as well as the money raised from private donations, construction will begin in 2026. The exact timeline isn’t clear as of now, but Josh remained optimistic that these developments could be completed in time for them to be utilized in 2026.
