Update on splash pad from City Manager Josh Bolt

The City of Maquoketa announced some big news for the area.

The YMCA and the City of Maquoketa were awarded 628-thousand dollars in funding for the Splash Pad development. As the news was announced over the weekend, we reached out to City manager Josh Bolt to speak on our Just talk program today, which he did.

Josh is involved in the grant writing and planning of the process, but made sure to state that it was the work and efforts of many others in the area who made it possible. The city is doing their part to make this happen, but are only able to because of the efforts of many groups and individuals.

In addition to the aquatic center development, it will also improve pedestrian and vehicle safety on Matteson Street. Josh Bolt had plenty more to say about the process, how it came about, where it stands, and where it is heading.
