JCRHC released notice on Whooping Cough cases in surrounding areas

The Jackson County Regional Health Center just released a notice about Whooping Cough.
According to their announcement, there has been an increase in the number of cases reported in the surrounding communities. While most who contract whooping cough will recover without medical treatment, it is more dangerous for infants. This year alone there have been over 25-thousand reported cases nationally, which is a notable increase from past years.
The Health Center recommends that if symptoms of whooping cough linger for more than two weeks, or any trouble with breathing is occurring, to seek medical attention.
