Jackson County road clearing information

Today on Just Talk I was able to speak with Jackson County Supervisor Nin Flagel. We discussed several different things going on in the county, but one of the topics we covered most was about winter road clearing. Jackson County is responsible for all the secondary roads, while the state cares for the highways.
Nin said that while the state has the capabilities to keep plow drivers out around the clock, the county cannot. She mentioned their usual operating hours for the slow clearing crews.
She also mentioned that the county has around 30 total vehicles that can clear the roads, and several hundred miles of roads for them to work on. While ensuring roads are safe is a top priority for the county, they appreciate the patience from community members when things get busy.
