DNR reports high deer numbers in Eastern Iowa ahead of shotgun season

With deer shotgun season coming up this weekend, the Iowa DNR has released some information about deer numbers and conditions.
While the numbers from the early hunting are slightly below the 5-year average across the state, Eastern Iowa has actually seen an increase in deer harvests.
The Iowa DNR also reports that hunting conditions are expected to remain quite good for hunters, especially in Eastern Iowa where the most harvests have been reported.
So if you’re looking to go hunting this deer season, Eastern Iowa is expected to be the place to hunt.
Information comes from Iowa Outdoors summary for Dec. 2nd.
