An accident occurred in Maquoketa just this morning. The southbound bridge going over Platt Street on Highway 61 had police on scene for an accident.
Around 6:15am today, a truck lost control going over the bridge and hit a snow embankment, burying the front end into the snow. Police were on scene and the left southbound lane was temporarily closed with police cars helping to direct traffic. As of now there are no injuries reported and only one vehicle was involved in the accident.
