Reminder on winter road safety

There were many accidents that occurred over the weekend because of the winter weather. This prompted a reminder from the Iowa State Patrol for general road safety.

One thing to do is to always make sure you have gas in your vehicle before driving, and to make sure you have warm clothing inside your vehicle in case you get stranded on the side of the road. Always stay in your vehicle and call for help with your phone. While we here in Jackson County did not see many accidents, many other counties did.

Be safe and smart when driving, and avoid bad weather whenever possible.
