Jackson County Senior Center’s Christmas Party Fundraiser

Today on our Just Talk segment Donna Cox from the Jackson County Senior Center was on talking about their efforts at the center and an upcoming fundraiser.

The senior center hosts many groups, activities, and people throughout the year. While they are able to meet this demand, the building itself is needing some updates. For this goal the Jackson County Senior Center is hosting a Christmas celebration on Friday December 12th.

According to Donna, the building was opened for use originally in 1980, 45 years ago. While some more paint has been added throughout the years, the majority of the building is older.

The renovation would see a new roof put on, new drapes, updates to the kitchen, and an overall upgrade to the facilities. They are aiming for 30-thousand dollars to be raised privately with the rest coming from grants, the city, and the county.

So join their Christmas Party next Friday for great food, company, and helping to update the county’s senior center.
