Bakeshop on Main’s Grand Opening

Today was the grand opening of the bakery in Maquoketa. The business, conveniently named Bakeshop on Main, had their grand opening today and KMAQ stopped by to ask them about their reopening.

The owners, Tracy and Donna Thede, had a bakery in the same location, but closed it a few years ago because of how much it took to run the operation. They have since reopened it under a new name and with different hours that work better for them.

With the new hours they have also changed their menu around a bit. They are focusing more on baked items and less on fried ones, and are also offering beverages and drinks for their customers as well. When asked what people can expect from the new opening, they had this to say.

While they have closed for the day, they will be open tomorrow and Saturday for customers as well. Their hours tomorrow will be the same as today’s, 6:30am-11:30am, and Saturday 7am-noon. So stop by, grab yourself a donut, and support a local business.
