Veterans mental health seminar open to the public at the Maquoketa library

On Monday there will be a seminar for veterans talking about mental health and resources for it. This event is geared towards veterans but anyone and everyone is welcome to come join and learn. Ruth from the Jackson County Veterans Affairs was on our Just Talk segment on Tuesday to discuss the program.

It will be at the Maquoketa public library and will have a person from the VA at the University of Iowa coming to discuss things. With mental health challenges like high suicide rates for vetertans, this program is being done to break down the stigma around mental health outreach for veterans.

If you or a family or friend are a veteran, then you can learn more about support options this Monday the 17th from 2-4pm at the Maquoketa Public Library. This is event is absolutely free.
