Update on Maquoketa High School situation

An update has been released about the situation at the high school yesterday.

The situation has largely been resolved, and no threat is present to students or the community. The Maquoketa Police Department is working closely with the Maquoketa Community School District for the investigation. Superintendent Tara Notz made sure to thank the police department for their quick action and priority of safety for the entire school community.

The Maquoketa Police Department stated in their own release that as of now, the incident appears to have been isolated between two individuals. They also state that they will always remain committed to the safety of schools and thank the entire community for their support and understanding throughout the situation.
