Maquoketa Middle School’s iJAG program report

The Cardinal Middle School’s iJAG (Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates) program released a 1st quarter newsletter to continue updating the community.
The 7th and 8th grade iJAG program has already given the students involved opportunities to talk with businesses and colleges in the area. The students have discussed career opportunities with MercyOne, AgVantage FS, local mechanics, and many others.
Colleges such as Midwest Technical Institute and Eastern Iowa Community College have worked with the students to educate them on what programs are available and offered.
Alongside these opportunities, the students also must engage in community service. A minimum of 15 hours of service must be reached, and they organize many fundraisers because of it. The Thanksgiving Food Drive is just one example of a fundraiser they initiate, with a larger one being done every month of the school year.
The students have already accomplished much in the last few months, and they show no signs of slowing down.
