City of Clinton reports dramatic drop in crime rates

The City of Clinton had a state of the city address led by the Mayor Scott Maddasion. Maddasion talked about various topics during his address.
One topic he discussed was the crime rates within the city. When compared to previous years, arrests made by the Clinton Police Department are down 69% this year. The overall crime rates in the city have seen a 59% reduction in the criminal activities.
Mayor Maddasion attributed this not just to the recent hiring of more police officers, but also the community outreach that the police do within the city. They are oftentimes a part of the events going on in the city, or are providing safety and security by blocking/directing traffic when needed. Maddasion made sure to thank the entire police force but also the chief for his efforts towards the lower crime rates.
