Veteran’s Day Event at the Jackson County Senior Center

The Jackson County Senior Center had an event for Veteran’s Day this morning. They offered free coffee and donuts to veterans and their friends, and were kind enough to take some time and tell us about what they do.
They are focused on community and want to ensure that all seniors, especially veterans, have access to groups, activities, and programs. They had members from the Jackson County Veterans Affairs present as well, and spoke about some of the ways they stay visible in the area.
They are open everyday as they have activities and groups that utilize their space everyday. While they host larger gathers like the Veteran’s Day event, they often are providing a space for many smaller groups.
Because of the numerous groups they host, they regularly see 350-400 people utilize the space every month. The Veteran’s Day event was just one of many that the Jackson County Senior Center make possible. Many veterans and friends were present, and were thanked for their service to our country.
