Maquoketa Middle School leading Thanksgiving Food Drive

Yesterday morning on Just Talk ,I had the opportunity to speak with Moesha Flake from the Maquoketa Middle School about the Thanksgiving Food Drive.
Moesha is the iJAG instructor at the middle school, and helps facilitate the students’ community efforts. They organize an event every month and for November it’s to give families within the community a Thanksgiving dinner.
While Moesha helps the students in their efforts and guides them, the students are the main driving force behind the initiative. They organize materials, keep track of items, communicate with other organizations, and do much of the work needed to make things happen.
The students are asking that those who are able to, to please donate to the program. You can drop off any food items or monetary donations to the middle school in Maquoketa until Wednesday Nov. 19th. They ask that when dropping off donations, material or otherwise, you specify that it is for the Thanksgiving Food Drive. All of the food also goes to families within the Maquoketa and Jackson County area.
