Dubuque resumes construction of flood prevention project

Dubuque’s flood prevention project will see construction resume.

The project was put on hold after concerns over a 2020 fertilizer spill were raised. After three months of the project being stalled for testing, construction was deemed fit to continue. The Iowa DNR said that no more environmental analysis was needed.

The project will see flood prevention capabilities double, which will help protect well over a thousand properties.
