Tonight Maquoketa High School is hosting a State Cross Country sendoff for Izzy Hardin. This will be in the high school commons area at 5:00. Hardin is one of the favorites to win the big race on Friday in Fort Dodge.
Tonight in local high school postseason volleyball: Bellevue travels to Independence to take on #1 ranked and defending state champion Denver in a Class 2A regional final in which the winner advances to the state tournament.
In Classes 3, 4, and 5A the state tournament field has been set as of last night and 3 Quad City area teams qualified. In Class 3A, Davenport Assumption is your Region 2 champion and they’ll take on Mid-Prairie, Wellman at Xtream arena in Coralville on Tuesday.
In Class 4A: North Scott, Eldridge is the Region 6 champion, and they’ll play Dallas Center-Grimes in the first round of the state tournament on Monday.
Finally, in Class 5A, Pleasant Valley over in Bettendorf is the Region 4 champion. The Spartans will play West Des Moines Valley on Monday in Coralville.
