Dubuque’s Highway 20 bridge closing for construction

The Julien Dubuque Bridge will be closed for construction early next year.

The Iowa DOT announced the closing of the bridge for maintenance and improvements. The detour will have Iowa drivers go into Wisconsin before traveling back down south into Illinois.

A map of the route detour was also released.

The bridge closure will begin at the start of the construction season in 2026. An end date for the construction has yet to be released by the DOT.
