Public showing of documentary at the Maquoketa High School

The Maquoketa Women’s Club is sponsoring an educational movie event about sex trafficking. Three women who helped make this possible were interviewed on KMAQ’s Just Talk segment. There will be a public showing this Sunday at the Maquoketa high school. The movie follows the story of three Iowa girls who were lured into this world.

The film focuses on Iowa, and more specifically to our region. Many local cities and towns are directly referenced in the film.

While the film talks about a heavy and serious subject, the film does not show graphic images. The movie and the showing of it is not to scare people, but to educate them on the very real dangers, especially the people who are often targeted.

The showing will be at 5:30pm this Sunday, and is open to the public. The film will also be played for high school and 7th and 8th grade students on Monday.

If you would like to view the full interview, please visit the Just Talk section of our website.
