Grassley talks about soybean harvest and exports to China
I was able to speak with Senator Grassley on Monday over the phone for an interview. I asked him a few questions, with the first one being about China and the trade relations over soybeans.
I asked him if the farmers would be able to sell the beans coming out of their fields, and if China would be buying any soybeans soon. He said a meeting between China and the U.S. will be happening soon.
Grassley went on to say that the crop for soybeans is good, but that demand is not matching the supply that is being brought out of the fields.
Grassley ended the response by saying that this is an unfortunate necessity to increase the price of the crops to be exported to China.
While farmers are feeling the slow demand, Grassley remains optimistic that it will be worth it in the long run.
