Two Jackson County businesses receive grants to increase E15 fuel access

Two businesses in Jackson County will receive grants to boost E15 and biodiesel fuel access.
KJ’s Deli Mart and Andrew Country Mart will receive over $100,000 combined to establish or grow their E15 capacity. Since the initiative began in 2006, over 65 million dollars in grants have been invested in Iowa’s fuel infrastructure.
Iowa was the first state to enact the E15 Access Standard, which requires most fuel retailers to offer E15 by 2026. Iowa is also the leading biofuel producer in the nation. Secretary Naig states this puts Iowa in a unique position to utilize the resource within its own communities, as it is both cleaner and cheaper than traditional fuel.
Officials also state that these investments help grow the economy, strengthen Iowa’s rural communities, and push Iowa towards cleaner and more affordable energy.
