CAT grant application approved for splash pad development in Maquoketa

Last Tuesday the Jackson County Board of Supervisors approved a grant application for the development of a splash pad in Maquoketa.

The Community Attraction and Tourism grant, or CAT grant, application was requested by city manager Josh Boldt and YMCA Executive Director Scott Warren. The CAT grant would allow for development of the splash pad, and would give funds in the amount of $500,000 to $600,000 for the project.

The City of Maquoketa also pledged to match up to $30,000 in funds towards the project if the CAT grant gets approved.

This motion was passed unanimously by the board.
