Clinton County put under burn ban

A burn ban is in effect in Clinton County until further notice.
With the lack of recent rainfall and the harvest season being underway, open burning has been banned throughout the county. The state fire marshal has found that open burning could pose risk to life or property due to the dry conditions. Failure to comply with the burn ban is charged as a simple misdemeanor.
An important note is that outdoor grills can still be used during this burn ban. Controlled burns can also still be done, but permits must be acquired and supervisor is necessary.
More information and a map of the counties with burn bans can be found on the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s website here.
