2025 Final Equalization Orders issued for Jackson County

The Iowa Department of Revenue has released the final percentage adjustments for property values.
The Equalization Order for Jackson County will apply to the 2025 assessments and are as follows. No adjustments were made to agricultural land, agricultural structures, or residential realty. A seven percent increase was made to the actual value of Commercial Realty. This is for commercial realty both in and outside of incorporated cities.

Pursuant to Iowa Code Section 441.49, the Iowa Department of Revenue has notified the Jackson County Auditor of the final percentage adjustments to the 2025 valuations of real property as follows:
The current equalization order for Jackson County apply to the January 1, 2025 assessments for the following classes of property:
No adjustment for Agricultural Land, outside and within incorporated cities; and
No adjustment for Agricultural Structures, excluding residential dwellings, outside and within incorporated cities; and
No adjustment for Residential Realty, including residential dwellings on Agricultural Realty, outside and within incorporated cities; and
Percentage Adjustment to Reported 2025 Actual Values for Commercial Realty, excluding machinery and equipment referred to in Chapter 427A, outside and within incorporated cities is 7%.
Assessed values are equalized by the Department of Revenue every two years. Local taxing authorities determine the final tax levies and may reduce property tax rates to compensate for any increase in valuation due to equalization. If you are not satisfied that your assessment as adjusted by the equalization order is correct, you may file a protest against such assessment with the Board of Review on or after October 9, 2025 to and including October 31, 2025.
