New 116 acre recreation area will be just north of Cascade

The 116 acre multi use Locher Rec Area just north of Cascade will soon be handed over to the Dubuque County Conservation.

The acquisition was done by the Twin Rivers Pheasant Forever, but was made possible by over 15 different partners. The Jackson County Pheasants Forever is one of the groups that helped to make this possible. Updates, maintenance, and improvements were also made and aided by other businesses and organizations.

The Dubuque County Conservation Board will meet soon and will be coming up with ideas and designs for trails, fishing piers, and water access to a lake and the North Fork of the Maquoketa River.

All photos and information used were collected from the Facebook page of Jackson County Pheasant Forever.
