87 year old Maquoketa man arrested and facing several charges

An 87 year old Maquoketa man is facing several charges after an altercation in front of the Maquoketa Police Department.

According to the official police report, Marvin Baker of Maquoketa was arguing with a driver of a car he had been tailgating. Baker was showing signs of intoxication and admitted to police that he had been drinking. Baker agreed to a breathalyzer test and he blew a blood alcohol content of .100. Baker was arrested for public intoxication.

The arresting officer has claimed that Baker was defiant and resisted arrest. When the arresting officer searched Baker a pistol was found on his person.

Baker has been charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, and possession of a weapon while intoxicated.
