Friday night in local high school football:

8-player #7 Easton Valley dominates Central City 76-12 

Central DeWitt made a statement, staying undefeated, as they beat Mt. Pleasant 49-27 

Northeast falls to Camanche 41-13

Bellevue improves to 4-0 as they beat Anamosa on homecoming 42-32

Calamus-Wheatland loses to Springville 49-12

Midland is beaten by Class A #7 Wapsie Valley 54-6

The Maquoketa Cardinals fell to Clinton 35-14 in a game heard on KMAQ.

Today in local high school cross-country:

Bellevue, Calamus-Wheatland, Easton Valley, Marquette Catholic, Midland and Northeast will all compete at the Bellevue Golf Club at 4:30.

The Maquoketa Cardinals will compete at the Solon Recreation and Nature area with a dozen other schools at 5. 

The St. Louis Cardinals won their final home series of the season 2 games to 1, after defeating the Milwaukee Brewers 5-1 yesterday. The Cards have two 3-game road series remaining, starting with a late one tonight on the west coast visiting the San Francisco Giants. Pregame coverage will begin at 7:50 on KMAQ.
