Last night in local high school volleyball:
The Northeast Rebels fell at home to 7th-ranked Dyersville Beckman Catholic in 3 sets.
The Central DeWitt Sabers fell on the road to 3rd-ranked Davenport Assumption in 3 sets.
Tonight is the Maquoketa Athletic Booster Club’s monthly meeting in the High School Library. The meeting will start at 6pm and everyone is welcome and appreciated.
Big news out of the Iowa high school girls basketball world, as the Cedar Rapids Gazette has announced a new location for ‘Rivalry Saturday’ to be held on December 6th at the all new Anamosa High School Gymnasium. The event is headlined by two-time defending Class 5A champion Johnston taking on a Wisconsin high school powerhouse Madison-Edgewood. More importantly for our listeners, the event will feature Class 3A No.1 Maquoketa taking on 5A No.5 Cedar Rapids Prairie. That game will be broadcast right here on KMAQ, the Cardinals time-slot is set for 7pm.
Finally, be sure to tune in tomorrow night for some more Maquoketa volleyball action as the Cardinals hit the road to take on Cascade. Pregame coverage with Dale and myself will begin at 6:50 on KMAQ.
