Archdiocese of Dubuque proposes a merging of parishes

The Archdiocese of Dubuque has proposed a merging of parishes throughout the region. Archbishop Zinkula’s propositions would affect thousands of Catholics in the archdiocese. While the merging has been proposed, many steps are still ahead before any action of merging takes place.
Information will be gathered by the parishes and the people in it, and the plans can be adjusted based on the community’s feelings. The reasons for these mergers are to share material and human resources, as well as to grow connections across all the parishes in the archdiocese.
These are the proposed maps for the merging:

Archbishop Zinkula said these mergers are in an effort to help the communities grow to be more Christ-like in thoughts, words, and deeds.
