A recent report released by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity states that John Deere Harvester in East Moline will lay off over 800 workers.
John Deere has responded to the report, calling it misleading and inaccurate. A John Deere spokesperson said the report seems to be an accumulation of layoffs since 2023, not upcoming layoffs. The spokesperson stated that no such actions have happened, and that any reductions in workforce will be communicated with their workers first.
