Accident on Highway 61 leaves Canadian man dead

There was a motor accident yesterday on highway 61. Just North of the Buncombe road intersection on Highway 61, a vehicle rear ended a semitrailer. The semitruck driver, 27-year-old Jayesth Paul of Canada, was on the side of the road checking or securing the load he had on the trailer.

While outside his semi, an SUV being driven by 27-year-old Kaylynn Knight of Maquoketa struck both the rear of the semi-trailer and Mr. Paul. When emergency services arrived at the accident, Mr. Paul was pronounced dead on the scene. Kaylynn Knight was taken to the hospital where she was evaluated and then later released.
