“Credentials to Careers” grant funding includes Dubuque Community School District

The Iowa Department of Education has just awarded a total of $500,000 dollars in grants to Iowa school districts. 15 school districts will be receiving up to 50-thousand dollars in grant funding, with the Dubuque School District being one of them.
The Credentials to Careers grant program’s purpose is to help students obtain credentials that are useful in many different fields. All of the credentials are industry recognized and allow students to have a head start when entering the work force. Health sciences, information technology, construction, manufacturing, child development, culinary and business credentials are some of the ones offered through this program.
Since the programs founding in 2024, the Iowa Department of Education has awarded more than 3.5 million dollars in funding to Iowa school districts. Over 36 school districts in Iowa have received this grant, aiding in the development of these opportunities in all of them.
