ISU Extension and Outreach’s Farmland Leasing Arrangements Workshop in Maquoketa

A Farmland Leasing Arrangements Workshop for 2025 will focus on better leases for better relationships. Farm tenants and landowners are both encouraged to attend.
The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Jackson County is hosting a farmland leasing meeting on Tuesday, August 5 at 5:30 pm, at the Jackson County Extension office at 1102 East Quarry Street in Maquoketa. The annual meeting is offered to address questions that landowners, tenants or other interested individuals have about leasing farmland. Topics will include land values, market outlook, cash rent trends, cost of production, methods for determining a fair rental rate, legal updates regarding leases and communicating with tenants or landowners. Farm Management Field Specialists will also be there to help address common questions when a lease is impacted by a farm estate or succession plan.
The workshop will be 2-and-a-half-hours long, costing $25, and will include a hefty but thorough workbook filled with all the resources and information needed for the event, and you get to keep. To register contact the ISU Extension and Outreach Jackson County office at 563-652-4923.
