Fair Interviews 7/25

Today at the fair we were able to interview some of the kids who were down there showing cattle! Cora Lee was one of the kids interviewed, and she was also the winner of the Purple Ribbon for showing her angus steer calf Lucky. She talked about the work and effort that goes into ensuring her cattle are fit for the show and in great health. She gives the steer a half gallon of starter feed every morning and night, checks his water to ensure that it’s clean and clear, and walks him daily to get him exercise. Clearly her efforts paid off and while she’s been doing this for 2 years, she will absolutely be doing it again next year.
Miles was another kid that was interviewed by us, and he has been in 4-H for 3 years, showing a bucket bottle calf Princess, and his 2nd year bucket bottle calf, Dave. He feeds them plenty, ensures they are watered properly, keeps their areas clean, and brushes them when it’s time to show.
Chance was the other kid we had the opportunity to talk with, being 13 and in 4-H for 3 years. He showed his bucket bottle calf, Snowball, and a 2nd year bucket bottle Buck. He showed both of them at the fair and has been showing cattle for the last 2 years.
