Fair Interviews 7/23

We here at KMAQ had the opportunity to interview some people who were at stands for their businesses or organizations, with one of them being the Jackson County Regional Health Center. I spoke with Pam Schoenthaler and Bob Herring who were outside the Person Center braving the heat and providing cold water to those who needed it. Both of them work at the non-profit center which is a level 1 trauma center. While they provide many life-saving services, they also offer a variety of therapy as well, which has great out-patient care for the community as well as the ones surrounding Jackson County. Specialty clinics are also available for those who need to travel out of the area for specific specialists, allowing a more local place for members of the community to meet with their doctors, having the doctors come up to meet the patient instead. They are also in the process of trying to get more orthopedics within the facility, as well as overall expansion of care for members of the community. While they are affiliated with MercyOne hospital, they are privately owned and operated by members of our very own community, allowing for a more personal level of care and knowledge.
We also were able to interview some of the Master Gardeners that are there, Melissa Wood and Linda Stewart. They have free seeds available for any and all who would like some, courtesy of Theisen’s and they range from a variety of flowers to herbs for that can be used in cooking. They also have the basket of blooms on display that you can view, admire, and vote for whichever one you think is the best. If you stop by make sure to grab some seeds to get your garden started, and ask any questions to the master gardeners present there to get some of the best advice there is.
