Mississippi River Closed Due To Airshow Practice

Heads up for folks near the Mississippi River—there’s a practice run scheduled this afternoon for the July 3rd Airshow in Dubuque. Organizers say the skies will be active between 1 and 3 p.m. today (July 2) as pilots rehearse over the river. During that time, the Mississippi River will be closed to all boat traffic from Lock and Dam 11 in Dubuque up to the Iowa/Wisconsin Bridge for safety reasons. Again, the airshow practice takes place this afternoon from 1 to 3, and boaters are asked to stay clear of that stretch of the river.
