Delmar Lions Steak Dinner & Golf Outing

Today on Just Talk, Mayor Tom spoke to Renee Lietz, member of the Delmar Lions Club to promote their golf outing called Nine and Dine taking place this Friday, June 27th. It is a best ball tournament with two four person teams who tee off at the same time. Shotgun start is at 4:30pm and there are still a couple slots available for more teams if you want to sign up.
Starting at 5:30, the country club and Delmar Lions Club will start serving a steak dinner. If you don’t want to golf, that is completely fine! Come enjoy a nice steak dinner instead. The meal includes steak, potatoes, coleslaw, fruit and dessert. Walkins are welcome and the bar will also be open.
If you do want to golf, the cost for nine holes plus the steak dinner is $75. The steak dinner alone is $25 and a hole sponsorship which includes golf, a cart and the steak dinner is $125. You may also purchase tickets at the door.
There will also be hole prizes for the longest drive, closest putt as well as gift certificates, gift bags and cash prizes. The cash prize for first place in the flights is $160 if you want to get competitive.
To sign up ahead of time, you can contact Kent Dennis at 563-357-2625. To call the country club if you want to golf, their number is 563-652-4515. The Delmar Lions Club is still looking for teams to participate and walk-ins are welcome. You don’t have to be a professional golfer to play in this event.Â
The Delmar Lions Club is responsible for events around the community such as their soup supper, car show, food drive, pancake breakfast and five annual blood drives a year. They meet on the first and third Wednesday at 6:30 in the morning. If you want to become a member, you can show up to their meeting at Grossman Hall in Delmar or  contact Renae at 563-321-3667 or email her at rlietz71@gmail.com.
