Compost Avaible in Dubuque

Good news for green thumbs in Dubuque County! The Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency — or DMASWA — is now offering United States Composting Council Certified Compost. The high-quality compost is ideal for trees, shrubs, flower and vegetable gardens, and even your lawn. Residents can pick up small quantities — less than a cubic yard — absolutely free from four convenient bunker locations. These include the entrance to the DMASWA Landfill on Airborne Road, the City of Dubuque Municipal Services Center on Kerper Court, and city sites in Epworth and Cascade. Need more compost? No problem. Landscaping companies and residents can schedule appointments for loading at the Agency’s compost facility. Larger quantities are available at a rate of $30 per cubic yard. To schedule an appointment or get more details, visit the DMASWA website — or call (563) 557-8220, extension 3.
