Highway 136 Bridge Between Clinton & Fulton Closed for Bridge Repairs

Iowa DOT Announced a Full Closure of Highway 136 Bridge for Repairs. The Iowa Department of Transportation is set to begin a major bridge deck overlay project on the Highway 136 bridge connecting Clinton, Iowa, and Fulton, Illinois. The bridge will be completely closed to all traffic starting today, with work expected to continue through November. Detour routes have been established. Drivers are advised to use the Highway 30 bridge as the primary detour, while the Savanna/Sabula bridge is available as an alternate route if needed. Officials urge travelers to plan ahead for potential delays and increased traffic along detour routes. The DOT appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as crews work to ensure the long-term safety and reliability of the bridge.
