In Jackson County court news, Luke Giesemann of Bellevue pleaded guilty to reckless driving. Giesemann was fined $855.
Brandon Banowitz of Maquoketa pleaded guilty to operating while under the influence, a first offence. Banowitz is assessed with a civil penalty of $1,250. Banowitz is also placed on unsupervised probation for 1 year, and will have a hearing on Deferred Judgments on May 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Jackson County Courthouse.
